Stablecoin
Also: stablecoins
A token designed to hold a steady value, usually one US dollar.
Most large stablecoins are backed by reserves of cash and short-term government debt held by the issuer. Others use crypto collateral or algorithms. How a stablecoin is backed determines how it can fail.
